Dear Florence Families,

As we step into October, we are excited to share a roundup of news, events, and updates that keep you connected and informed about our collective journey in education at Florence. This month promises to be vibrant and engaging, with activities that celebrate our students' achievements, foster community spirit, and enhance our learning environment. Be sure to read on for important dates, upcoming events, and highlights from our school community. Thank you for your continued support and involvement!
 

What's going on this Month?

Homecoming Week!

It's homecoming week at North Mesquite High School! Let's show our support by showing up with school spirit!

Tuesday (9/30): Where it all began...Wear a Florence/House Shirt

Wednesday (10/1): Where do we go from here? Vanston. Wear Gold and Black.

Thursday (10/2): Reach for your Goals: Wear a college shirt.

Friday (10/3): Show your Stallion Pride. Wear Blue and White.

Don't forget to check Skyward for grades! The end of the 1st quarter is October 10th.

Dyslexia Awareness Month

October marks Dyslexia Awareness Month, a time to promote accessibility and inclusivity for individuals with dyslexia while celebrating their achievements. Florence Elementary School is excited to join in this important cause. Parents, if you would like to experience dyslexia therapy first hand, you are invited to come at 5pm, before the Spooky Trail of Treats, Oct. 23rd, Room 117.

Hispanic Heritage Month House Rally will take place on October 10th! Students are invited to wear their house colors or Hispanic heritage attire.

Schedule your Parent Conference

Teachers will be reaching out to you for parent conferences. These should take place between October 20-31st.

Spooky Trail of Treats Oct. 23rd

Spooky Trail of Treats is fast approaching! We will have games and treats for all students on October 23rd from 6-7 pm at our back Florence parking lot! Students may wear costumes to this fun event!

If students bring a bag of candy for this event, they will be allowed to dress up on Oct. 31st!!
