Celebrate G/T Awareness Week! April 6-10
This week, we honor the unique curiosity and deep-thinking of our Gifted and Talented learners.
It’s more than just high grades. It’s about supporting the specific social and academic needs of students who require "different," not just "more," work. Join us in thanking our G/T educators and advocating for the bright minds in our community! #GTWeek #whyGT
🧩 Celebrating Different Kinds of Minds
April is Autism Acceptance Month, we are proud to celebrate our neurodivergent students here at Florence Elementary!
Autism isn’t a "disability" to be fixed; it’s a different way of experiencing the world.
Our classrooms are brighter and more creative because of the unique perspectives our autistic students bring to the table.
So, how can we all be better classmates and friends?:
-
Presume Competence: Always believe in what your peers can achieve.
-
Be Patient: Some friends might need a few extra seconds to process a question or a joke—give them that space!
-
Find Common Ground: You might be surprised to find you share the same favorite game, book, or hobby.
-
Celebrate Differences: Remember that "different" is never "less."
Let’s keep working together to make Florence a place where every student feels seen, heard, and included! We are #STRONGERTOGETHER!!!
